The civilian courses run by Krav Maga Edinburgh can take you through the Practitioner and Graduate levels if you wish to do so, or you can train without ever having to grade. Krav Maga Edinburgh appreciate that for some people there will be a desire to be tested and to grade however, others may simply wish to train in a short course.

If you wish to grade then you are required to purchase an IKMF passport which is your membership to the International Krav Maga Federation (IKMF). The passport allows you access to discounted training courses around the globe.

	These are Krav Maga students. Student's uniforms Have white trim & designs (badges, print & stripes). Their grading patches are gold with black bars representing their level i.e. 1 bar = Practitioner Level 1 (P1).

	These are mainly Krav Maga instructors, although there may be Graduate level students who have not taken the instructors certification, who will not wear red. Instructor's uniforms have red trim and designs (badges, print and stripes). Their grading patches are cobalt blue with black bars representing their level i.e. 1 bar = Graduate Level 1 (G1).

	These are high level instructors. Usually specialising or assisting in other areas such as Police, Special Units or Military instruction, in addition to their civilian qualification. Expert Instructor's uniforms have gold trim and designs (badges, print & stripes). Their grading patches are gold with red bars.
